Hello John ,
Utah’s public lands are at a crossroads, and the choices we make now will define their future. That’s why our inaugural Land We Share Summit [[link removed]] on Friday, October 3rd is bringing together bold advocates, sharp minds, and committed leaders for a day of deep conversation and practical solutions.

Our panels are built to move us into action. And depending on where you stand, you’ll find something uniquely tailored to your interests and passions. Think of it as a choose your own adventure: find the path that speaks to you most, or mix and match to explore issues you care about:
I’m new to this and want the basics.
→ Public Lands 101 : Who manages what, and how tribal co-management is reshaping stewardship.
I care about equity and inclusion.
→ Accessing Public Lands : What “access” really means for historically excluded communities, and how we balance accessibility with recreation impacts.
I’m driven by ecology and science.
→ Wild Lands & Wild Water : Explore the ecological backbone of public lands policy—watershed health and biodiversity.
I’m focused on rural futures and economics.
→ Economics of Open Space : How tourism, recreation, and energy sustain rural communities—and why protecting open space matters.
I see myself in leadership.
→ Public Office, Public Lands & Me : How running for office (or supporting those who do) shapes policy and protections for our lands.
I’m a recreationist who wants to give back.
→ Recreation to Conservation : How climbing, biking, hunting, and other outdoor pursuits fuel advocacy and stewardship.
I want to learn from wins (and losses) elsewhere.
→ Winning Public Lands Strategies : Neighboring states share lessons from the frontlines of public lands protection.
I want to know what’s next.
→ What’s Coming Down the Pike? : Upcoming legislation, agency decisions, and how to proactively engage before it’s too late.
These conversations will be anchored in interactive breakout rooms, where you’ll move from being a listener to being a co-creator of solutions. Stewardship Utah was formed by merging Rural Utah Project and O₂ Utah, orgs that have a track record of policy wins, advancing rural democracy, and defending places like Bears Ears. This is your chance to step into that legacy of building power to protect the places we love.
Seats are limited! Let’s defend the places we love, together.
