My thoughts and prayers go out to Charlie Kirk's wife and young children, and his extended family and friends.
Something changed in the soul of the country yesterday. The tragic passing of Charlie Kirk as a result of political violence is abhorrent and must be condemned in the strongest terms. Free speech is one of the pillars of America, and Charlie Kirk dedicated his life to championing open dialogue and civic engagement. He was a devoted American whose influence and discourse will not be forgotten.
We honor his legacy and recommit ourselves to protecting the principles for which he stood. He will live on in those that carry his work forward.
