Today, on World Suicide Prevention Day, we honor the lives of those impacted by suicide and recommit to building a world where every LGBTQ+ young person feels safe, supported, and never alone.

The need is urgent: 39% of LGBTQ+ young people seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year — including nearly half of transgender and nonbinary young people. More than 1 in 10 attempted suicide. Behind every number is a young person who deserves compassion, understanding, and care.

One of the most powerful steps supportive adults and allies can take is to talk about suicide safely. That’s why we’re sharing a powerful episode of TrevorTalks: How to Talk About Suicide Safely — offering guidance and practical tips for starting difficult but lifesaving conversations.

Beyond World Suicide Prevention Day, The Trevor Project is here 24/7 with resources and crisis services to support LGBTQ+ young people and the adults who care about them:

Trevor Resources – Explore guides, blogs, and tools to help you support LGBTQ+ youth. > >

Crisis Services – If you or someone you know is struggling, our trained counselors are available anytime, day or night. Get help now. > >

By learning, sharing, and showing up, you can help create a world where LGBTQ+ young people know their lives are worth fighting for.

Support from individuals like you enables The Trevor Project to continue our work to end LGBTQ+ youth suicide through our crisis services as well as the development of resources and guides like these to promote education and allyship.

Friend, we couldn't do our work without your support.

Give today and help us continue
saving young LGBTQ+ lives.
