We at Texas Values are all in shock and it is heartbreaking to hear that Charlie Kirk has died, shortly after an assassination gunshot wound he suffered today while speaking at a college campus event in Utah.

He inspired my teenage kids to talk more about values issues, to be more proud of supporting President Trump, and Charlie made it clear that young people have an important voice in society today.

I met Charlie last summer at an event in Wisconsin when I was serving Texas as a Republican National Committee (RNC) Delegate at the 2024 RNC convention. Charlie Kirk was one of the most impactful leaders in recent history, particularly as a Conservative Christian for the issues of faith, family, freedom and pro-life values. Charlie was an inspiration to our Texas Values team, including Megan Flanakin who served as president of the Turning Point USA chapter at the University of Texas at Austin and helped with the campus event with Charlie Kirk while she was a student.

May Charlie rest in peace. I am praying for his wife and children. And I’m praying for America.
