Poll: Rooting Out Government Waste, Addressing Crime, Securing The Border And Returning America To Its Values Receive Huge Bipartisan Support

The latest Harris poll from the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard University, conducted Aug. 20-21, reveals Americans strongly back President Trump’s approach to securing the border, deporting illegal aliens, attacking crime at the root, ferreting out government waste, and restoring traditional values. On immigration, 50 percent of Americans strongly or somewhat approve of the job President Trump is doing. Among a long list of President Trump’s policies, his second highest ranked policy overall is deporting immigrants who are here illegally and have committed crimes, right after lowering prescription drug prices, the survey finds. Americans support deporting illegal immigrants who have committed crimes by 50 points, 75 percent to 25 percent. This includes 88 percent of Republicans, 72 percent of independents and nearly two-thirds (63 percent) of Democrats too. President Trump’s fourth most popular policy in the survey is closing the border with added security that discourages illegal crossings. Voters support closing the border with added security by 34 points, 67 percent to 33 percent. 87 percent of Republicans support closing the border with added security, as do 65 percent of independents, and nearly half (49 percent) of Democrats. The survey shows that President Trump’s border security stance is hardly out of touch to a broad majority of voters. |
Trump Is Right. Slowing Inflation And Labor Markets Show Federal Reserve Is Keeping Rates Too High, Too Long.

The U.S. economy was in much worse shape than previously thought during the 2024 election between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Kamala Harris, revised labor markets data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows, with a downward revision of almost 1 million from jobs from the establishment survey of employers as jobs figures published to the American people were greatly overstated, only producing 855,000 jobs instead of 1.76 million from March 2024 to March 2025. The unreliable establishment survey data came at a time when the household survey has shown unemployment steadily increasing by 1.6 million January 2023 to its current 7.38 million level as inflation has cooled, which it appears to have done once again in August as producer prices contracted 0.1 percent according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, while the 12-month reading came in at 2.6 percent, far below its 2022 high of 11.6 percent in March 2022. That’s usually when the Federal Reserve starts cutting interest rates, which it has, at least in 2024 it did three times, before pausing rate cuts in 2025, citing inflation concerns over President Trump’s tariffs while economies all over the world were cutting rates. But whatever feedback from the tariffs, it did not adversely impact producers in August. Food only grew 0.1 percent, energy was down 0.4 percent. Less food and energy was 0.3 percent. And that’s with pretty much all of the tariffs in place now.
Almost a year into the second Trump administration, and high inflation is nowhere to be found but the slowdown in labor markets is real enough. |
Poll: Rooting Out Government Waste, Addressing Crime, Securing The Border And Returning America To Its Values Receive Huge Bipartisan Support

By Manzanita Miller
If you listen to the left, over half the country voted for President Donald Trump due to ‘misinformation’ — the left’s favorite term for dodging the mainstream news — or bigotry. Modern Democrats vilified Trump voters when President Trump won the popular vote, aghast that voters elected a president to secure the border, deport illegal aliens, tackle rising crime, and renegotiate trade deals in our favor.
What the mainstream missed, and will continue to miss if they do not reflect on their own porous values, is that Americans also voted for President Trump to restore traditional American values, and a sense of rationality to a culture that was deteriorating.
Americans aren’t just tolerating President Trump’s tough approach to crime, the border, rooting out government waste, and restoring traditional values — including asserting the biological reality of two genders and eliminating race-based preferences in public hiring — voters are actively cheering this on. While the mainstream media is focused on baiting Americans with manufactured outrage over President Trump’s policies, a significant share of the public is behind him.
Crime is another area where President Trump is ranked highly among voters, with 51 percent of the country saying they strongly or somewhat approve of President Trump’s approach to crime in the survey.
Americans also show strong support for President Trump’s efforts to audit the federal government, and take steps to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse. President Trump’s third most popular policy priority in the survey is undertaking a full-scale effort to find and eliminate fraud and waste in government expenditures. A full 73 percent of Americans support ferreting out fraud and waste in the government, while just 27 percent oppose it, a 46-point difference. 88 percent of Republicans, 72 percent of independents, and over half (58 percent) of Democrats support President Trump’s full-scale audit of the federal government. Americans also support freezing and re-evaluating all foreign aid expenditures by 16 points, 58 percent to 42 percent. 82 percent of Republicans, 56 percent of independents, and over a third (35 percent) of Democrats support halting all foreign aid until it has been evaluated.
Finally, one of President Trump’s highest ranked policy areas is a collection of priorities that reassert traditional, rational, American values. Half of Americans, (50 percent) say they strongly or somewhat approve of President Trump’s approach to restoring traditional values, but when asked about individual policies, voters support Trump’s approach at even higher rates.
For instance, Americans support banning men who have undergone operations and hormones to become women from girls’ sports by a resounding 32 percentage points, 66 percent to 34 percent. This includes 83 percent of Republicans, 64 percent of independents, and close to half (49 percent) of Democrats.
Eliminating race-based discrimination or race preferences in the hiring and awarding of government contracts is also extremely popular to most voters, with Americans supporting the merit-based approach by 28 points, 64 percent to 36 percent. This includes 82 percent of Republicans, 62 percent of independents, and 47 percent of Democrats.
Another cultural policy Americans are ready to reembrace is the scientific assertion that there are only two genders, a reality Americans support by 25 points, 63 percent to 38 percent. This includes 85 percent of Republicans, 58 percent of independents, and 40 percent of Democrats.
Americans are not tolerating President Trump’s tough on crime approach, voters aren’t tolerating the Trump’s significant efforts to secure the border and deport illegal aliens, and voters are not merely accepting the president’s focus on auditing the federal government and returning America to rational cultural values. A significant share of the country, including wide swathes of independents and even Democrats support the Trump Administration on these priorities. The mainstream media and leftists looking to vilify conservatives ahead of the midterm election cycle will continue spinning the narrative that President Trump is going against the people. The reality is he is doing exactly as he promised and the people support it.

Almost a year into the second Trump administration, and high inflation is nowhere to be found but the slowdown in labor markets is real enough.
Responding to the inflation news, on Truth Social on Sept. 10, President Trump wrote, “Just out: No inflation!!! ‘Too Late’ must lower the RATE, BIG, right now. Powell is a total disaster, who doesn’t have a clue!!!”
In terms of being “too late,” the President has a point, as consumer inflation had already hit 8.5 percent in March 2022 before the Fed began hiking rates in the first place, with consumer inflation eventually peaking at 9.1 percent in June 2022.
Now, almost a year after the disastrous Biden administration has ended, and the economy is even weaker than was originally thought. If inflation were going to get really high, that would imply the economy was overheating. Instead, as can be seen with sinking demand and cooling labor markets, the opposite is happening. Maybe the Fed’s crystal ball got cracked.
