Conservative icon Charlie Kirk was fatally shot Wednesday during a TPUSA speaking event at Utah Valley University.

Fox News confirmed that Kirk has passed away as of 4:45PM EST.

Reports as of publication say that law enforcement do not have a suspect in custody and a manhunt is underway.

President Donald Trump responded to tragedy on Truth Social, writing:

"The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!"

Horrific footage of the shooting was posted across social media instantly, shooting a large crowd of young supporters fleeing in a panic.

Utah Valley University said police are going "building to building" escorting students and staff off campus and those on campus were instructed to secure in place and wait for officers to escort them.

Republicans and Democrats join in condemning political violence

Both Democrats and Republicans, including Sen. Mike Lee, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Rep. Eugene Vindman, and Senate leaders John Thune and Chuck Schumer, condemned political violence and expressed prayers for Kirk’s recovery.

"This is a good time to pray," Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, said on X.

"Please join us in praying for our good friend, Charlie Kirk,” Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, R-La., wrote.

"Political violence has no place in America. This shooting is horrifying, and I’m praying for Charlie Kirk and his family,” Democrat Sen. Chuck Schumer wrote.

"Political violence is NEVER acceptable. My thoughts and prayers are with Charlie Kirk and his family," House, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said in a statement.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi condemns “gun violence” in her response:

"The horrific shooting today at Utah Valley University is reprehensible. Political violence has absolutely no place in our nation. All Americans should pray for Charlie Kirk’s recovery and hold the entire UVU community in our hearts as they endure the trauma of this gun violence," Pelosi wrote in a statement.
