Dear Friend,

Right now, the U.S. Forest Service is moving to repeal the Roadless Rule — the landmark protection that has safeguarded tens of millions of acres of our wildest public lands for over two decades.

From Alaska to Arkansas the Roadless Rule has helped protect lands where people hike, fish, hunt, mountain bike, and ski. Lands where endangered wildlife live. Lands where members of tribal nations find strength, cultural identity and sustenance. They are irreplaceable.

Across 36 states and Puerto Rico, the Roadless Rule protects about 30% of all national forest lands — bringing outsized benefits to ourselves and the natural world.

Use our interactive map to find roadless areas near you and learn how you can help fight back. With just a few days left for the public to submit comments, now is the time to act.

The Roadless Rule was created in 2001 after unprecedented public input — 600 public hearings and 1.6 million public comments. It remains overwhelmingly popular with Americans across the political spectrum.

From the beginning, the Roadless Rule has faced relentless attacks from logging and other political forces. With each challenge, Earthjustice has stepped in to vigorously defend this protection, and we aren't stopping now. Thank you for being by our side for this fight.

Sincerely,

The team at Earthjustice
