The situation in Gaza is dire, friend: A mass evacuation order for Gaza City has been issued, forcing thousands of people to decide whether to risk staying in the city or to flee to areas that are already overcrowded.
Famine has been confirmed – more than 500,000 people are facing starvation, and 1 million more are on the brink, facing very high acute malnutrition and risk of death. All while vital aid trucks are blocked at the border.
In the midst of this crisis, Americares is doing everything we can to meet urgent health needs.
We’re helping fund a mother and child clinic in Gaza City – providing lifesaving medical care to 4,000 displaced women and children every month. This includes treatment for acute malnutrition, breastfeeding counseling and mental health support. The clinic is still operating, but the situation is tenuous as Gaza City becomes more dangerous and the conflict escalates.
