John,

I'm an Army veteran, so I took it personally when news broke that Donald Trump is trying to rename the Department of Defense to the “Department of War.”

Because we all know what he really means:

- He wants a military that serves his agenda, not the American people.
- He wants loyalty tests instead of respected, experienced leaders.
- He wants to turn troops against their fellow Americans here at home.

That’s not defense.
That’s not freedom.
That’s not the America I served.

I’ll be a resounding NO on Trump’s name change. Our military exists to defend this country -- not to be weaponized for partisan power, and certainly not to fuel Trump’s phony tough-guy posturing of America as a “war first” nation.

But I can’t hold the line alone. The only safeguard against Trump’s abuse of power is a Congress strong enough -- and independent enough -- to say no.

Please donate $3 now to help me fight back. Help ensure we have a Congress that will stand firm against Trump’s plot to twist our military into a political weapon »
