Friends and fellow patriots,
People are always asking how they can get plugged in to our group. Here are TWO opportunities!

First, can you help with childcare? You wouldn't do it every month... we will rotate volunteers around. Honestly, we aren't even sure how many kids we'll get. But if you don't mind jumping in now and then, please email
[email protected] .

Second, the letter below is from Fran Rhodes, our new President! I love the story she tells of how SHE got plugged into our group. It all started as a liaison -- and that's exactly what we need YOU to start doing! Read her letter and let her know if you want to jump in.

Thanks,
Julie McCarty, CEO
True Texas Project

Dear Friends and Patriots,
Back in 2010, NE Tarrant Tea Party saw a growing need to establish and maintain good relationships with the elected officials within our sphere of influence. In 2010, we launched the “Liaison” program, and recruited volunteers to be assigned as liaisons to all elected officials in our region.

Nearly 10 years have passed since then, and we have successfully established those relationships with many of our elected leaders, and have been able to call on our Liaisons as needed to communicate with offices, get out important messages to citizens, and generally keep leadership informed of important issues in each area.

Now, NE Tarrant Tea Party has re-launched as True Texas Project, with the mission of rekindling the spirit of the original Texians, and inspiring citizen engagement at all levels. The NETTP Liaison effort has been dormant for a while, but we want to re-kindle that Texian spirit and bring True Texas Project Liaisons to life.

To that end, I would like to invite anyone who might be interested, to a meet and greet at my house on Saturday, Sept 7, from 6:00 to 7:30. I’ll offer up some snacks and beverages, we’ll get to know each other and have a brief presentation on what Liaisons are all about and what’s involved if you choose to become a Liaison.

Volunteer Liaisons will be assigned to every elected official in our region and state and national level offices, including school boards, county offices, and city councils. The job of a Liaison is to establish contact with the elected person (and the staff), stay in touch, meet with them regularly, attend meetings where appropriate, and generally maintain an open line of communication with the elected person or group. Liaisons are also important to the election efforts, as we decide which candidates to support or oppose during election season.

The Liaison position is not very time consuming, and can easily be handled by busy patriots who want more involvement with government. It’s a great opportunity to educate yourself on how things work, and we will teach you everything you need to do the job. There are about 40 or 50 positions to be filled, so we need lots of volunteers.

I hope you’ll consider becoming a True Texas Project Liaison! I got my start with NETTP as a Liaison to Keller ISD, and then as Liaison Coordinator. It’s not a difficult role to fill, and you can learn so much by doing it. If you’re passionate about changing government, and don’t know what to do or where to start, this is a great job for you.

Please contact me at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) if you’re interested in attending the meet and greet. When you reply, I’ll send you the address (it’s in the Keller/Northeast Ft Worth area). If you cannot attend, but are interested in being a Liaison, just let me know. I’ll send you more information, or meet with you personally to discuss.

Morton Blackwell has said, “Political success is determined by the number and effectiveness of the political activists on either side.” If Mr. Blackwell is right, then in order to succeed, WE need to have higher numbers and better effectiveness than the other side. Won’t you join us in that effort?

God Bless Texas!
