*Governor Mark Gordon To Join Elected Officials at Grand Opening of New Terminal at Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport   *

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Mark Gordon will deliver remarks at the public grand opening of the new commercial terminal at Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport in Rock Springs on *Friday, September 12 at 2 PM. * The Governor will join local, state, and federal leaders for the event, which includes a ceremonial ribbon cutting and guided tours of the new facility.

The terminal project reflects years of planning and collaboration, with funding coming through a variety of sources including $26.7.million in federal dollars. Additional funding came from the Wyoming Business Council’s Business Ready Community grant and loan programs, state matching transportation  funds, the Wyoming Department of Transportation - Aeronautics, and local partners.

“Connecting the world to Wyoming these days is increasingly important and that takes investment in critical transportation infrastructure and supporting air service. These are essential to economic growth in Wyoming,” Governor Gordon said. “I’m excited that this new terminal will welcome visitors, locals and our business community with a first rate facility that reflects the beauty of the region.”
