What Will Make My Prevention Program Sustainable?
Campus Drug Prevention recently debuted the 2025 edition of the Prevention With Purpose web series, with videos featuring prominent members of the prevention field highlighting the steps of the Strategic Prevention Framework.
This week, Dr. Dolores Cimini, Director of the Center for Behavioral Health Promotion and Applied Research at the University at Albany, walks you through sustainability.
This is the process of building an adaptive and effective system that achieves and maintains desired long-term results. This involves thinking about sustainability from the beginning, identifying diverse resources, investing in capacity, building ownership among stakeholders, identifying program champions, and tracking and touting outcomes.

The full series, a complement to Prevention with Purpose: A Strategic Planning Guide for Preventing Drug Misuse Among College Students, can be accessed on its dedicated hub.
