Fellow activist,
Plain and simple, the upcoming November judicial elections are much bigger than partisan politics. This was reiterated by NPP’s founding CEO, Kadida Kenner, who was recently quoted in a WHYY article discussing the importance of this year's court elections:
“Robes that these judges and justices wear are black, they’re not red, they’re not blue. Justices and judges wear black robes for the people, not for the political parties.”
As a reminder, Republicans are running an anti-retention campaign against three Democratically elected justices on the PA Supreme Court. They see these retention elections as their best chance to reverse the Democratic majority on the PA Supreme Court and obtain a MAGA majority. If they are successful, we can expect to see very different judicial decisions – from abortion access and marriage equality to voting rights, climate protections, and more.
We need to do everything in our power to fight for a fair and independent court. This is bigger than politics – it’s about preserving freedoms for all Pennsylvanians.
We need to act fast to protect the independence of our state courts. With just under two months until Election Day, every day counts. Will you rush $25 to support our upcoming Get-Out-The-Vote efforts?
