In case you missed it, we have compiled a collection of new and useful resources on our Back to School page to help you plan lessons and conversations for the year ahead. This collection includes kits to help you get started with antisemitism and Holocaust lessons, tools to increase allyship and understanding in your school communities, and registration for No Place for Hate.

As we start a new school year, it’s important to reflect on the many cultures, identities and observances in our communities. Our Back to School page includes our annual Calendar of Observances . To enhance mutual understanding among groups and promote inclusive communities, ADL offers this resource as a tool to increase awareness of and respect for religious obligations and ethnic and cultural festivities that may affect students, colleagues and neighbors in your community. The beginning of the school year is a time when many Jewish holidays occur. Check out our resource 5 Things to Know about the Jewish High Holidays to learn more about these important observances.

We believe that school administrators can build an atmosphere of mutual respect by accommodating students, their families and school employees for their religious practices.

No Place for Hate Back-To-School Kickoff with author Dana Kramaroff

October 23, 2025 | 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT 

AUDIENCE: For All Members of the School Community 

No Place for Hate invites schools to kick off the new school year with a powerful virtual event centered on inclusivity and allyship. Join author Dana Kramaroff for a live reading from her middle grade novel-in-verse, The Do More Club, a compelling story that explores the impact of an antisemitic incident and the importance of “spreading kindness so hate can’t win.”  

Students and educators will come together with No Place for Hate changemakers from across the country to listen to stories, engage in meaningful dialogue, and learn from one another about how to “DO MORE” in creating more inclusive school communities where all students feel seen, valued, and heard. 

ONLINE COURSE: Teaching about Holocaust Denial and Distortion in the Digital Age

September 15 - 28, 2025

AUDIENCE: For Educators

Participate in this online course for a guided, facilitator-led exploration of Echoes & Reflections resources that support teaching about Holocaust Denial and Distortion in the digital age. Participants will gain crucial understanding of how antisemitic tropes and hate speech related to the Holocaust are utilized and learn research-backed strategies to challenge students to think critically and empower them to recognize and reject antisemitic hate speech.

Course Details: This free course opens Sept. 15 and takes ~4 hours to complete. Proceed at your own pace, be supported by an instructor and enjoy interaction with other educators. Complete all activities for a 4-hour certificate. Graduate credit is available through the University of the Pacific.  

ONLINE COURSE: Breaking Down Antisemitism

October 16 - 30, 2025

AUDIENCE: FOR EDUCATORS

Educators, ready to transform how you teach about bias and hate? This course uses antisemitism as a lens to help you:

📍 Develop pattern recognition skills  

💙 Build student empathy  

🤝 Create classroom solidarity  

🎯 Strengthen critical thinking 

Course Details: This free self-paced course starts Oct. 16 and ends Oct. 30. The time commitment is ~6 hours, including a Community Webinar on Oct. 21 that you can attend live or watch as a recording. You will earn a certificate for 6 professional learning hours upon successful completion.

When we ran this as a pilot earlier this year, 100% of participants said they would recommend the course. Here’s one educator’s feedback:
