I’ve prosecuted more than a few insider trading cases throughout my career, so believe me when I say this: There is no functional difference between the illegal kind of insider trading, and the legal kind that runs rampant all throughout Washington.

The only real distinction? When you’re an ordinary citizen, you’re sentenced to jail time. But when you’re a member of Congress, you’re rewarded with millions.

Enough is enough. I’m done with the excuses, and I’m done with the toothless half-measures. We need to ban individual stock trading in Congress, and nothing less.

For years, we’ve watched MAGA politicians stuff their bank accounts to the brim through insider information and shady day trades, then vote to screw over working-class families the very next day. It’s sick. If you’re with me, will you become a Citizen Co-Sponsor of my bill to ban individual stock trading in Congress?

I've heard every excuse in the book from MAGA Republicans:

“It’s politically motivated.”

“It goes too far.”

“If Donald Trump can profit off public service, why can’t I?”

But this isn’t political. 86% of Americans support a stock trading ban in Congress! When was the last time 86% of Americans agreed on anything?

So, if Republican, independent, and Democratic voters are all united on this issue, why is Republican leadership so desperate to kill every stock trading ban that comes to the floor?

It’s because, despite their rhetoric, they don’t want to drain the swamp. They don’t want to change the status quo. These politicians have raked in huge sums of money for years — so why would they stop now?

With this much corruption out in the open, it’s no wonder why trust in the government is at an all-time low.

The standards for public service should be higher, not lower. So I’m taking action. I’m fighting each and every day to make that higher standard the law of the land, so no politician can use inside information to enrich themselves. If that’s a fight you can get behind, will you become a Citizen Co-Sponsor of my bill to ban stock trading in Congress?
