The Missouri House GOP passed Gov. Mike Kehoe’s (R) mid-decade gerrymander in a 90-65 vote Tuesday, sending the map to the state Senate for consideration. The new congressional map would dismantle Kansas City’s Democratic-leaning 5th District, giving the GOP an electoral advantage in seven of Missouri’s eight congressional districts.
The House also sent a proposed bill to the Senate that would make it harder for Missourians to use the state’s initiative petition process.
“It’s an unconstitutional attempt to rig the 2026 elections before a single vote is cast — breaking Missouri law, dividing communities, and undermining democracy,” People NOT Politicians spokesperson Elsa Rainey said in a statement of the GOP’s gerrymandered map.

Federal court upholds two provisions of Georgia’s notorious voter suppression law
In a loss for voters, a federal court upheld two provisions of S.B. 202 — Georgia’s 2021 voter suppression law — that place restrictions on absentee ballot applications. The ruling stems from a lawsuit filed by two pro-voting groups.
One of the provisions upheld by the court bars voting rights groups from mailing pre-filled absentee applications. The other prohibits sending applications to voters who have already requested, received, or submitted an absentee ballot.
Charges dismissed against Michigan Republicans who tried to subvert 2020 election in fake electors scheme
In another loss for fair elections, a judge dismissed all felony charges against 15 Michigan Republicans electors who were accused of conspiring to subvert the results of the 2020 election by signing a document falsely claiming Trump won the state.
“This is a fraud case, and (you) have to prove intent, and I don’t believe that there’s evidence sufficient to prove intent,” the judge reportedly said in dismissing the case.
“To dismiss these charges ahead of the 2026 elections, which we know are at risk of election sabotage, is disgraceful, as it serves as a green light to those who may again attempt to take the will of the people away,” Ashiya Brown, the Michigan state director of All Voting is Local, said in a statement.
As Donald Trump continues to undermine the rule of law, Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-N.J.), the Democratic nominee for New Jersey governor, has a stark warning for all of us: “He’s not leaving willingly.” Sherrill sat down with Marc to talk about how she plans to set the table for the future of the Democratic Party. The ACLU is suing the Trump administration for detaining immigrants. Recently, the government conceded in the ACLU’s federal court case that it would provide detainees with bond hearings, allowing them to go home to their families. While this is an important victory, this fight is far from over. Tell Congress to demand access and shut down Alligator Alcatraz permanently. Take action now.
