Rt Hon Winston Peters: One Clarion Call

New Zealand First Party Leader, Rt Hon Winston Peters, delivered a speech to over 1000 people in Palmerston North over the weekend, concluding our Party’s annual convention.

We understand with great clarity the importance of our mission.

Winston described New Zealand First as a political movement in revival, with boundless prospects ahead of us, strong, visionary, whilst being driven by this most elusive quality in politics – ‘Plain Common Sense’.

It is this common sense that our values are based on, and where our key policies are derived from.

- KiwiSaver to be reformed

New Zealand First will campaign on making KiwiSaver compulsory, and will increase first to 8%, and then to 10%. Both the KiwiSaver and the employer will receive tax cuts to cover the increases. KiwiSaver will become a serious ‘New Zealand asset-owning entity’.

- Migrants to sign ‘Kiwi value document’

All new migrants coming to New Zealand will need to sign up to our ‘Kiwi values document’ and pledge their commitment to respect for our country and our culture. We first campaigned on this policy in 2018.

- English set to become an official language in New Zealand

Cabinet has recently confirmed that legislation is soon to be brought to the house, making English as an official language in New Zealand. Another New Zealand First coalition promise delivered.



We believe in a country called New Zealand, with one law, one people, one flag, and one set of values that our forebears fought and died for. And if we are the only party willing to stand in the way of globalist politicians and bureaucrats trying to take our country away, then so be it. – Winston Peters
