Dear Friend,

I'll be nominating songs and albums by Texas artists to the prestigious National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress, which chooses 25 culturally significant recordings to preserve our nation’s audio legacy for future generations.

Texas is a hub for creative talent and the birthplace of many iconic musicians in various genres. From George Strait’s soul-stirring country to Beto Villa’s orquesta Tejana, Texas artists represent a blend of various cultures, styles, and languages.

While there are currently 675 selections in the National Film Registry, less than 5% of inductees have Texas-ties.

Thank you for your help ensuring our state’s rich music heritage is shared and preserved. That's all for now.

Sincerely,
