John, it’s Governor Wes Moore. Chris Deluzio said I could reach out today to share some important news with you. When we first launched our campaign four years ago, I had never run for political office. I was an Army Captain, the son of a single mom, and I ran one of the largest poverty-fighting organizations in the country. So I traveled the state, listening to your stories and sharing mine. I heard the same thing again and again: That the career politicians had been telling us everything was great, when we knew it wasn’t. Ever since I took office, I’ve been on a mission to change that. To lower taxes for middle class families. To make health care and prescription drugs cheaper. To make our communities safer. But our mission is far from over. Today, I’m proud to announce that I’m running for another term as Governor of Maryland. Because our work isn’t done yet. While we’ve made a lot of progress over the last three years, our fight is even more important now because of who is in the White House. The President of the United States is bending over backwards for billionaires and big corporations. He’s firing federal civil servants, gutting Medicaid, and raising prices on everything from electricity to groceries for families. His reckless attacks are hitting Maryland hard. It’s time for us to come together across counties and party lines to prove that even in the face of dysfunction in D.C.: We can show there’s a better way forward.
John, join us. Let’s build a state where we leave no one behind. Elevate, |
