I ran as a Democrat in 2024 because I believed the party shared my Mississippi values—rural, overlooked and ready for change. But after that campaign, I’ll be bluntly honest: when it comes to states like mine, the national Democratic Party gives us the cold shoulder cycle after cycle…until last week.

A few days ago, the hand-picked party establishment candidate announced he was running for the U.S. Senate. This candidate is backed by millionaires, corporations, and party bosses. Now the national Democratic Party is paying attention to Mississippi because of big dollar signs, not because they care about improving the lives of folks here in the South.

That’s why I’m running for the U.S. Senate as an Independent in 2026 – if 2024 taught us one thing, it’s that we need to make some real changes, not more of the same ol’, same ol’. Our campaign is people-powered and grassroots funded. Running for office isn’t easy, it ain’t cheap. Running as an Independent doesn’t mean I’m abandoning my principles, I’m upholding them—without relying on the permission of partisan party bosses and agendas of millionaire gatekeepers.
