Farmers and ranchers are supposed to be Boebert’s core constituency and look at how royally she is screwing them over.
John,
Confronted with competition from corporate agriculture, tariffs, and heavy debt burdens, many Colorado family farms are surviving month to month.
That’s why you should be especially disgustedby what Colorado GOP member Lauren Boebert was just caught doing to Colorado farmers.
The USDA runs a program called the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program where farmers and ranchers can temporarily cede their land to the USDA. The farmers get paid and also see improvements in water quality, soil erosion, and in local eco-systems from temporarily not using the land.
Boebert has been a proponent of this program even going so far as to introduce legislation to expand it. She knows that the farmers in this district love and rely upon this program so she wants to be as associated with it as much as possible.
But here’s the thing. Boebert cut so much from the USDA budget with the Big Beautiful Bill that the money to fund this program no longer exists.
Boebert is encouraging farmers to lease their precious land to a government program that will not be able to pay them back. Farmers and ranchers are supposed to be Boebert’s core constituency and look at how royally she is screwing them over.
No one deserves to get duped like that, especially when you are already struggling to make ends meet. Trisha Calvarese, the Democrat running against Lauren Boebert, is going to put an end to this.
