BREAKING… House Republicans have released a plan to enact MASSIVE cuts to environmental programs, directly threatening our air, our drinking water, and public lands.

There’s a real chance that they’ll succeed.

That’s because right now, Congress is rushing to make a deal to avert a government shutdown — and their September 30 deadline puts lawmakers under enormous pressure to agree to harmful provisions that would otherwise be unthinkable.

We need every person who cares about our planet, our communities, our national parks, and public health to step up right now.

LCV is running a major pressure campaign in the lead-up to the September 30 deadline. We’re running ads and mobilizing constituents in lawmakers’ home districts, urging them to stand firm against these attacks that would:

  • Completely slash all climate work being done by the EPA.

  • Slash funding for our already struggling national parks, worsening shortages that could make it harder to sell tickets to visitors, give tours, clean and stock bathrooms, and respond to emergencies, and aiding extreme efforts to sell off our public lands.

  • Threaten the health of rural and low-income communities by cutting environmental justice initiatives that help communities address challenges like extreme weather, outdated water infrastructure, and pollution.

  • Roll back environmental cleanup efforts by the EPA, shrinking the agency’s capacity to clean up toxic pollution, support states and Tribes, and enforce environmental safeguards.

We need to raise $50,000 by the end of this month to show Congress that we will not stand by while they prioritize polluters over everyday people. Please, renew today, while your gift will be TRIPLED to help us keep up the pressure through the September 30 shutdown deadline. $5 is all it takes >>

With gratitude,
