Why are we talking about climate disasters this month?
From Los Angeles to Texas to North Carolina, millions of Americans are feeling the impacts of extreme weather. But instead of providing support, the Trump Administration has been slashing critical relief programs and the National Weather Service, while doubling down on the fossil fuel pollution that's making these climate disasters worse, harming communities, and increasing costs for everyday people.
However, we can provide our communities with the support they need by holding polluters accountable and making them pay. These funds will protect our communities from climate disasters while ensuring that taxpayers aren't left to bear the burden of corporate pollution.
During our action hour together, we'll:
-
Learn how we can prepare our communities for extreme weather
-
Hold the corporate polluters responsible for the damage they've caused
-
Connect with hundreds of Sierra Club members and advocates like you
Since unnatural disasters are so close to home, we encourage you to do something a bit different this action hour by hosting a small watch party with friends or family who live nearby. Let us know you'll be joining and invite one or two neighbors here. |
