Dear Community,
Over the past few months, we’ve been hosting our Speaker Series as part of our 12th anniversary celebration, creating spaces for learning, reflection, and growth within our community. Each session has been designed with one goal in mind: to strengthen our collective impact on society.
Our next event is no exception. This time, we will gather for an urgent and timely conversation: Co-Governance: Can Movements Stop Politicians from Selling Out?
In this workshop, we will explore the institutional pressures that lead politicians to “sell out” once in office, as well as the steps social movements can take to counteract these pressures and build true partnerships with elected officials. Together, we’ll ask: If co-governance is to become more than an abstract ideal, what steps are needed to forge better relationships, and what common pitfalls must we avoid?
