Take Action TODAY to Stop Federal Education Cuts!

Your voice is needed!

The Trump administration is pushing to cut $12 billion from public education in the federal budget starting October 1st (FY 10/1/2025 - 6/30/2026).

The U.S. Senate budget did not include education cuts, but the House budget does!

Congress can stop these cuts, but they'll only do it if we let them know our priorities!

TODAY (9/9) the House Committee on Education & Workforce will vote on whether to advance the proposed education cuts.

The cuts include a 15% cut to the U.S. Department of Education on top of the massive cuts already implemented.

These cuts would

  • Eliminate funding for afterschool programs
  • Slash support for English language learners
  • Gut arts and technology education
  • Undermine school emergency preparedness
  • Reduce mental health services from students in need

The House proposal also slashes Title 1 funding by 27%. Title 1 provides essential funding for low-income schools and districts.

There are THREE members from North Carolina on the House Committee on Education & Workforce. Let them HEAR from YOU.

Rep. Virginia Foxx and Rep. Mark Harris are the most likely to vote in favor of the cuts. PLEASE CALL/EMAIL them to urge a halt to these harmful cuts!

5th district: Virginia Foxx (202) 225-2995 // (828) 265-0240 and (336) 778-0211

8th district: Mark Harris (202) 225-1976 // (704) 218-5300

Rep. Alma Adams is a strong public school supporter. Please thank her and encourage her continued support!

12th district: Alma Adams (202) 225-1510 // (704) 344-9950

NC will lose $200,303,525 in federal dollars if the original cuts go through! This is before the additional cuts proposed by the House!

Contact your U.S. Senators and U.S. House Representatives to voice your strong opposition to these planned federal cuts to our public schools. Urge them to keep all federal funding and reject the administration’s plan to cut $12 BILLION in critical funding for our public schools.

Please email them and then CALL the offices of your U.S senators and representatives.
