Dear Jack,
At the September 2nd Wake Forest Board of Commissioners work session, Mayor Vivian Jones announced her intention to proclaim October as “Pride Month.” This means Wake Forest would endure two pride months this year—one in June and another in October. Commissioner Faith Cross, the only conservative on the board, was the only voice to speak up against this divisive proclamation.
This is a clear example of why municipal elections matter. Too often, these local offices are overlooked, yet they wield tremendous influence over policies that shape our daily lives—whether it’s schools, taxation, policing, or cultural issues like this one. Across the nation we’ve seen how local boards and councils have become battlegrounds for ideological agendas that attack parental rights and undermine community values.
Unfortunately, municipal elections also suffer from some of the lowest voter turnout rates in our state. But that means your pro-life, pro-family, pro-freedom voice can have an outsized impact!
Here’s what you can do today:
North Carolina’s 2025 municipal election dates are:
TODAY, Tuesday, Sept. 9 – Forsyth (Rural Hall, Tobaccoville), Lee (Sanford), Mecklenburg (Charlotte)
Tuesday, Oct. 7 – Various municipalities (second primary, primary, or general election)
Tuesday, Nov. 4 – Various municipalities (general election or runoff)
Local government decisions impact every one of us. Let’s not allow them to be hijacked by divisive agendas. Together, we can bring life, family, and freedom back to the forefront of our communities.
