John,
The EU is on the verge of handing Bayer and other GMO (genetically
modified organisms) giants their biggest win in decades: erasing the very
rules that require GMOs to be labelled and tracked. If they succeed, Bayer
and other corporate giants get what they’ve always wanted: the power to
reshape our food system in secret, while stripping us of our right to
choose.
Genetically modified foods could quietly flood our supermarket shelves,
fields, and plates – with no labels and no way for us to choose what we
eat or feed our families. This is corporate capture, plain and simple. And
it’s happening behind closed doors in Brussels.
But here’s the good news: over 53,000 people have already signed our
petition to defend GMO labelling. Now, if enough of us chip in, we could
supercharge this campaign with polling, ads, and more to break through the
political backrooms and force decision-makers to listen to us – not Bayer.
Our team is rapidly pulling together plans to fight on Bayer’s turf, with
bold, visible, people-powered pressure that politicians can’t ignore.
Can you chip in to power the resistance against corporate giants like
Bayer?

Right now, when we go to the supermarket, we can quickly look at labels to
make informed choices about what you feed ourselves and our families. Now
imagine that overnight, the labels indicating which products contain GMOs
disappear.
Suddenly, GMO products – engineered and sold by giants like Bayer – could
flood our shelves, and we’ll have no way of knowing what’s in our food.
That nightmare could soon be reality – and a huge step backward for food
safety and transparency. And once these protections are gone, they’ll be
nearly impossible to win back. But together, we can still stop this.
Insiders say that the EU Parliament wants to protect our right to know
what’s in our food. But our governments are buckling to Bayer’s pressure,
which is why we’re gearing up to launch tactics like:
* Escalate this fight online by taking out ads targeting key MEPs, EU
Commissioners, and party leaders on social media – mobilizing citizens
to flood their feeds with comments, tags, and messages until they
can’t look away;
* Commission headline-making evidence that the public wants
transparency, including an EU-wide poll proving overwhelming support
for GMO labelling;
* Unleash a series of bold visuals, poster actions, and street
projections in Brussels, Strasbourg, and Copenhagen – right outside EU
offices and government ministries – to keep up the pressure in the
streets as well as online.
This is a fight for our basic right to know what we eat, grow, and feed
our children. Bayer and its allies want to make that choice for us. But if
thousands of us come together now, we can make sure our voices are louder
than their lobbyists.
Can you chip in today to power the resistance against corporate giants
like Bayer?

Your donation will help power Ekō and our campaigns worldwide fighting for
people and the planet.
We’ve beaten GMO giants before – from stopping toxic pesticides to winning
protections from their harmful products. Every time, people power helped
turn the tide. Together, let’s do it again.
Thanks for all that you do,
Allison and the Ekō team
