Hey John,
I spent the Senate recess traveling all over PA. Everywhere I went, folks kept telling me the same thing: Housing costs are outta control.
Rent? Too damn high. Buying a home? Out of reach. Repairs? Draining people’s wallets. 😤
So here’s what I’m doing:
🏘️ I met with the Philadelphia Housing Authority in West Philly to check out progress on 1,000 new housing units. Real stuff.
🛠️ My Whole-Homes Repairs Act is part of the big housing package heading to the Senate floor. It helps stop livable homes from turning into blight, and we already know it works. (It's based on a PA program!)
🤝 And with my Housing Supply Frameworks Act, I'm working across the aisle to cut the red tape, boost housing supply, and tackle the housing shortage so costs can come down.
Right now, rising housing costs are eating up more and more of people’s paychecks, and they're hitting young people and folks on fixed incomes the hardest.
I hear you. And I’m swinging back.
The only people benefiting from the housing crisis are real estate execs and their stockbrokers. I don't answer to them – I answer to you, John, and the working folks in PA who sent me to D.C. to fight for them.
So that means this grassroots campaign relies on folks like you chipping in $5, $10, and $20 at a time to fuel our fight to stand up to the CEOs and their D.C. lobbyists.
If you're in this with me, it would mean a lot if you could pitch in a few bucks to help me keep up this fight. There's strength in numbers, and we're on the verge of making real progress for working folks in PA + across the country. ✊
Thanks,
John ❤️
