Donald Trump is illegally deploying the military into our cities.

While, today, the Supreme Court at least temporarily approved the Trump administration’s indiscriminate ICE raids¹, last week, a federal judge ruled that Trump’s use of the National Guard and the Marines in Los Angeles violated the Posse Comitatus Act―which prohibits the use of military personnel for domestic law enforcement.²

Nevertheless,Trump posted this weekend that “Chicago [is] about to find out why it’s called the Department of WAR” as he prepares to send troops to Chicago to silence dissent and further his mass deportation scheme over the objections of Illinois Governor Pritzker.^3,4

This week, the U.S. House and Senate are expected to vote on different versions of a National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) authorizing over $880 billion in new funding. We cannot allow Congress to hand Trump even more military funding when he is illegally using our military in our own streets.

Already, Congress has cut more than $1 trillion from Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP, just to turn around and hand massive tax cuts to billionaires and corporations. Now they want to hand Trump even more money in his war on our communities through the largest-ever military authorization bill.

We’re demanding Congress invest in vulnerable people, not further Trump’s attacks.

With a vote expected this week, take action today. Send a message to Congress to reject the NDAA, which would further Trump’s war on our communities.
