Over the weekend, Trump made yet another shocking and inappropriate post on his Truth Social account — this time, threatening Chicago with violence.

He even included an AI-generated image of himself in front of a burning Chicago skyline, with the words “Chipocalypse Now” written across it.

This shameful, dangerous rhetoric should be beneath the office of the presidency. The idea of an American president threatening one of our own cities is something most of us would have imagined happening — yet Trump is doing exactly that.

Now, he’s trying to walk it back, saying he just wants to “clean up crime.” But we know better. His agenda isn’t about making communities safer. It’s about whitewashing history, deporting people based on the color of their skin, and stoking fear in cities like Chicago that have the courage to stand up against his textbook fascist agenda.

Trump wants to send troops and ICE agents into Democratic strongholds like ours, not to “fight crime," but to intimidate working families and immigrants who are already under constant attack.

This isn’t just rhetoric; it’s part of his broader play to take power, silence dissent, and divide us.
