Time, energy, and investments in the right candidate

Stacey Abrams' Speak Up PAC

John, this is Stacey Abrams.

I believe strongly in the importance of people-powered campaigns. If we are going to beat extremism at the polls, it is going to be because grassroots supporters like you stepped up to save our democracy, one dollar at a time.

That’s why I’m so excited to write to you about Scott Colom, running for Senate in Mississippi.

Will you join me right now and become a Founding Donor to his campaign by chipping in $10? As someone who grew up in Gulfport, this race is personal to me.

One of the great joys of my life has been seeing once landslide victories for Republicans slowly shift into neck-and-neck races in new battleground states like Georgia.

These changes didn’t happen overnight. It took years of volunteers building on-the-ground infrastructure, dedicated local leaders making the right investments, and grassroots donors chipping in just $5 or $10 to make it all possible.

I am confident we can win in places like Mississippi. But it will require time, energy, and yes, investment in the right candidate.

Scott Colom is that candidate.

A seventh-generation Mississippian with a record of delivering for his community, he has what it takes to win in a tough state. In the Senate, he’ll be a strong champion for lower prices, will fight to protect Mississippi hospitals, and do everything he can to bring home good jobs.

Unfortunately, he has an uphill battle ahead of him. Republicans have spent a fortune on maintaining power in Mississippi.

But in 2023, Democrats had their best showing in 20 years and came within a stone’s throw of flipping the Governor’s Mansion. We can build on that success – if we have the early investments in the state now, at the very start of the campaign.

So I’m respectfully asking you to become a Founding Donor to Scott’s campaign with a contribution of $10 or $25. It’s going to take a big grassroots team, so the amount you give is not nearly as important as the donation itself.

Gratefully,
Stacey Abrams
