** It's called seeing the big picture, something Biden never did.
------------------------------------------------------------
Wall Street Journal ([link removed]) (9/7/25) reports: "U.S. oil prices are hovering near $62 a barrel—below the break-even point for many of the industry’s smaller players—down from about $76 the week Trump took office. Yet some oil bosses see the turbulence as a price worth paying to see the president implement their agenda. White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said the oil-and-gas industry is the backbone of the American economy and the source of 'millions of good-paying jobs,' and that the president is delivering on his promise to 'make America energy dominant again.' Trump’s unabashed support for the industry has left environmentalists aghast. They contend the administration’s moves will translate into higher energy prices for consumers, fuel climate change and make the U.S. less competitive with other nations that are embracing renewable energy."

"Every Biden-era policy that blocked energy production weakened the U.S. [President Trump] is rewriting the playbook on American strength!"

The subsidies and constant maintenance are just the beginning of the high cost of solar and wind.

Glad to see Japan is taking the Alaska LNG deal seriously.

** Reuters ([link removed])
(9/8/25) reports: "Japan has hired energy consultancy Wood Mackenzie to assess a proposed 800-mile Alaska gas pipeline and LNG plant in a sign it is weighing support for the $44 billion project touted by U.S. President Donald Trump, two sources with knowledge of the matter said. The assessment could help assuage lingering concerns among potential Japanese off-takers and investors about a project that has languished for decades due to cost and logistical challenges, said one of the sources, requesting anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter. Since returning to office, Trump has promised to push forward the mammoth project to move gas stranded in Alaska's remote north across the state before being chilled and shipped overseas as liquefied natural gas (LNG). As he wrapped up a trade deal with Japan in July, Trump said Tokyo and Washington will form a joint venture to develop an Alaskan LNG project. Japan has not confirmed such a plan."

Sorry EVs, looks like you'll have to compete in the market without unfair subsidies.

** Spectrum News 1 ([link removed])
(9/5/25) reports: "The federal EV tax credit — worth up to $7,500 — was first established in 2008 and then overhauled in former President Joe Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act. A new law, signed by President Trump, set the program to expire on Sept. 30. The change comes at a pivotal moment for California, which leads the nation in EV adoption and has pledged to end the sale of new gasoline-powered cars by 2035. Losing the incentive could make reaching that target more difficult. Adding to the challenge, California EV drivers are also about to lose another perk: carpool lane access. The DMV said Clean Air Vehicle decals, which allowed solo EV drivers to use high-occupancy lanes, will no longer be valid starting Oct. 1. Republican leaders opposed extending the federal credit, calling EV subsidies a handout for wealthy buyers and an unfair burden on taxpayers."
