Over the weekend, Donald Trump tweeted an image of himself literally going to war with the city of Chicago.

As a former F-16 fighter pilot, let me tell you plainly: This is the worst possible message a President can send to our military.

Will you join my campaign to defeat Trump’s sycophants, John Cornyn or Ken Paxton, and oppose authoritarianism?

Our troops swear an oath to the Constitution, not to any one man. Not to Donald Trump. They do not exist to be used as political props or deployed against American cities.

But this is the moment we’re in. We are watching the President of the United States threaten military action against his own country and his own citizens. The very people he swore to protect.

I’m running for U.S. Senate in Texas because the Democratic Party needs a new generation of leaders—people who won’t hesitate to fight authoritarianism wherever it appears.
