The August jobs report was grim: only 22,000 new jobs were added – far below the 80,000 economists predicted. Unemployment has climbed to 4.3%, the highest in four years. That’s 3 million more people out of work compared to last year, and nearly 2 million Americans have been unemployed for more than six months.
Donald Trump’s response? He fired the Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics and claimed the numbers were “rigged.”
