Let me tell you what I think,
John.

Young people are smart. We pay attention to the issues. We’re showing up
to vote.

But to me, this is only the first step for our generation. The second
step? Running.

We need young people on the ballot. We need young people in elected
office.

That’s why I teamed up with Kevin Lata, the campaign manager who helped
elect the first ever Gen-Z member of Congress in 2022, to launch Leaders
We Deserve.

As a generation, we grew up hearing that to survive a school shooting, we
had to run, hide, and fight. I think our generation needs to reinterpret
what that means.

* We need to run — for office. Representation won’t happen on its own.
* We need to stop hiding from our responsibility to our country and
planet.
* We need to fight for a better government and a better future for
everyone.

That’s why Leaders We Deserve exists. We’re helping young people run for
office and win — like Nadarius Clark and Molly Cook, who we’ve already
helped win. Next up, we’re supporting young progressive candidates on the
ballot in the midterms.
