Back in 2021, when extreme Republican politicians still believed my victories were a fluke, they redrew KS-03’s boundaries to make it more difficult for me to win. They moved thousands of people who previously voted for me to a neighboring district — all to give my opponent a significant advantage in the next election.

It was gerrymandering, plain and simple. And after they did it, Republican politicians thought they finally had my number. But they were wrong.

In the next election, we won by even more. By bringing folks together, focusing on the issues, and ignoring the political distractions, we built a campaign that welcomed Democrats, Republicans, and Unaffiliateds alike. And that made GOP politicians furious .

They think Kansas Democrats don’t deserve a single seat in Congress. Instead, they want to turn Kansas into a one-party state.

So now, they’re coming back to try and finish the job.

Make no mistake: The latest scheme Republican politicians are pushing in Topeka goes so much further than their last gerrymander. They want to make every Congressional district in Kansas a guaranteed win for the GOP. No more competitive elections anywhere .

But we’ve overcome their gerrymandering schemes before. And I know we can do it again.
