Congress is back in session, and I want you to hear directly from me about what I’m walking into.

In just the last few days:

➡️ Trump’s advisors have floated using the military against civilians again. It’s illegal, unconstitutional, and dangerous. I served on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee. I know our troops. They deserve better than being used as props in a political stunt, especially on the whims of the President.

➡️ His budget chief wants to shred Congress’s constitutional authority and give full control of federal spending to the White House. It’s worse than a bad idea. This a direct attack on the power of Congress – the people’s House – to keep this President in check. 

➡️ And while families struggle under rising costs and inequality, Trump’s allies push more tariffs and fiscal chaos that deepen the pain, all while trying to silence anyone who speaks out.

I’m speaking out. I’m standing up. And I’m fighting like hell to protect our Constitution, our families, and our future.

But I’ll be honest with you: it’s exactly why I’m one of the most vulnerable Democrats in Congress right now. The national GOP has put a target on my back, because their goal is to flip CA-49 and block any effort to hold Trump accountable.
