Dear Jack,
As the days grow a little crisper and the season shifts, September brings a sense of momentum—a chance to reconnect, set new goals, and move forward together with purpose. It’s also a natural time to pause and reflect on the work already underway. Over the past few months, I’ve been grateful for the opportunities to serve our community, and I’m excited to share some of those highlights with you.
Commission on Civic Education

During the legislative interim, members of the General Assembly participate in a range of commissions that oversee policy areas across the Commonwealth and provide guidance on emerging legislative issues. As Vice Chair of the Commission on Civic Education, I recently traveled to Richmond for our latest meeting.
The Commission reviewed a potential alternative draft to House Bill 2052, which would require civics courses to incorporate instruction on local government entities and constitutional officers. Members discussed refinements to the proposal and outlined next steps for consideration. We also received an update on the Commonwealth’s new civic education website, including efforts to expand accessibility and classroom resources. Planning is underway for the 2025 Teacher Summit, with an emphasis on professional development opportunities. In addition, George Mason University presented its new Civic Education Course, underscoring the collaborative work between faculty and the Commission to strengthen civic learning in Virginia.

My Sixth Year of impactful conversations at ADAMS Center Sterling!
My team and I had a meaningful opportunity to engage with congregants at the ADAMS Center’s Sterling location. For more than six years, maintaining dialogue with the ADAMS community about shared priorities and pressing issues has deepened my understanding and strengthened my ability to serve. I am grateful to everyone who took the time to stop by our table and share their perspectives. These conversations are vital to building strong, lasting connections with the community I am honored to represent.
Final Meeting of the Speaker’s Emergency Committee
Next Thursday (September 11, 2025), the Speaker’s Emergency Committee on the Impacts of Federal Workforce and Funding Reductions will convene its final meeting. How My Office Can Help
Navigating state agencies can be confusing and difficult at times. As the delegate for House District 27, I can help you communicate with state agencies such as the Virginia Employment Commission, Departments of Taxation, Social Services, Transportation, and more! I can also submit inquiries with those agencies on your behalf. There are limits to what I can do, however. For example, I am unable to expedite cases or force state agencies to favor your inquiry, provide legal advice or recommend a specific attorney, intervene with judicial issues, overturn decisions, or be involved with matters between private businesses.
Whether you require my office’s assistance, want to bring an issue to my attention, or invite me to a community event, please reach out here: [link removed] [[link removed]]
Alongside constituent services, I can submit drafts for commending and memorial resolutions. If you know of a person or organization in the district that deserves special recognition, please submit a request here: resolution request form. [[link removed]]
If you are happy with the work I am doing, please consider donating to my campaign for re-election using the button below.
