Team — I know it’s a Sunday, so I’ll keep this quick.

On August 27th, a despicable human being used an assault rifle to open fire on the Annunciation Catholic Church here in Minneapolis as a group of school children were praying.

2 children were killed, and over a dozen more were injured.

Team, there is no reason for assault rifles to be on the streets, where they can fall into the hands of anyone capable of such horrific violence.

Polls show that a vast majority of Americans agree we should ban these weapons of war. It's long, long, long past time for politicians to act accordingly.

Please, add your name to my petition calling on my colleagues in Congress to put an assault weapons ban to a vote. Let’s put Republicans on record siding with the NRA and choosing more gun violence over the safety of our kids and the safety and peace of mind of everyone in this country.
