We’re Demanding the Truth while Corporate Media CowersA critical message from Founding Editor Lisa Senecal.
It’s undeniable that Donald Trump is Vladimir Putin’s puppet, but we have to keep digging and demanding answers: How many puppet-masters are pulling his strings? This is no time for business-as-usual reporting. Congressional Democrats must stop pretending they have a party on the other side of the aisle committed to the rule of law, their oaths of office, democracy, or basic human decency. We want answers, and unlike many in the legacy media and elected office, we aren’t afraid to ask the tough questions. Trump is still Putin’s puppet — he proves that again and again while Ukrainians are slaughtered and NATO is weakened. But the strings controlling Trump create a far more complex web than a single, murderous indicted war criminal. At the Epstein survivors’ press conference this week, it was revealed that Trump had cooperated with the Epstein investigation back in 2008. What’s changed? How many favors have the wealthy and well-connected done for Trump in the past 27 years that he’s gone from cooperating with an investigation to desperately proclaiming it a hoax? Shady loans? Dirt others have on Trump? Major political donations? Trump has even implied that people at the highest levels of the Democratic Party are named in the Epstein files, yet he continues to stonewall their release. And nearly every Republican in Congress is in this filthy bed with Trump. Why else oppose the release of all the documents? Epstein’s survivors have the courage to speak publicly about their abuse and demand justice, and GOP House members pretend that they’re protecting the victims by covering for the perpetrators. It’s difficult to imagine anything more twisted and cruel. So why aren’t members being hounded relentlessly by the media? Instead of treating this like the largest cover-up of a pedophile ring in U.S. history, we’re getting the same old horse-race political coverage — how many votes does Rep. Massie need to pass the Discharge Petition? This isn’t a debate over renaming the Gulf of Mexico. We’re talking about child trafficking and child rape! Where is the outrage? Where is the indignation? Lincoln Square has plenty, and we’re not keeping it a secret. Like the incredibly brave women who spoke of their abuse on the steps of the Capitol this week, we won’t be silent. We won’t be intimidated. We won’t back down, and we will not stop until every document is released, every pedophile and enabler in this vast criminal conspiracy is investigated and exposed. Ask yourself, if Trump and the Republicans are protected child predators after Epstein is dead, is there any line they won’t cross? Any person — or child — they won’t harm or keep quiet about if it furthers their ambitions of power and control? Of course not, because power and control was exactly what it was about for Epstein. They think they’re so different. They’re not and we’re calling it out. If you haven’t taken out a paid subscription to support the work of independent, fearless media at Lincoln Square, we’re asking you to now. The most powerful people in our country want our voices silenced — that includes your voice and the voices of survivors. We can beat them together. We can reveal the truth and demand justice. It’s the very least we can do, but it is all Epstein’s survivors are asking for. Stay in the fight. Fight shoulder to shoulder with us. We can do this — together.
