This Grandparents Day, we’re celebrating the love, strength and support grandparents give to wish kids — like Kalel, pictured here with his grandpa. Will you help us say thank you? Sign the card to say “Happy Grandparents Day” to our wish grandparents.
Kalel was diagnosed with leukemia when he was just 11 years old. He spent a month in the hospital with the odds stacked against him. But after three months of aggressive treatment, Kalel was in remission.
Kalel had never met his grandpa before because he lived so far away. So when he learned he would receive a wish, he asked to travel to Brazil and meet his grandpa for the first time. On his wish trip, Kalel and his grandpa played games, walked on the beach and made priceless memories with his whole family.
“On this trip, we forgot cancer was part of our lives,” said Kalel’s mom. “Kalel has always been a fighter … We remind him that the hero always wins, and so will he.”
Wish grandparents are our heroes, and you can be one, too. Please sign the Grandparents Day card and thank them for all the love and support they selflessly give to wish kids.
Wishfully,
Make-A-Wish® |
