On Thursday, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared before the Senate Finance Committee, where he spent his time lying about his dismantling of the Department of Health and Human Services, spreading dangerous misinformation about vaccine safety, and refusing to take accountability for the chaos he has created in our public health infrastructure.1
The hearing came just days after the FDA, which is under Kennedy’s control, announced that COVID-19 vaccine boosters would be recommended only for people over the age of 65 and those with preexisting conditions, effectively shutting off access to the vaccine for tens of millions of Americans.2
Kennedy’s continued attacks on vaccines and public health programs are beyond dangerous, and it is important for all of us to stand up to oppose his anti-science, anti-vaccine extremism.

Let’s be clear, John: The COVID-19 vaccine is safe, effective, and responsible for saving millions of lives around the globe. But Kennedy doesn’t care about that. He doesn't care about scientific research and data. He doesn’t care about the opinions of health care experts.
He cares only about promoting his twisted, conspiracy-fueled anti-science agenda—at any cost.
Earlier this summer, he fired all 17 members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), the group which creates vaccine recommendations that Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance companies use to determine what vaccines they will cover or not, and replaced them with a panel stuffed with unqualified quacks who support his anti-vaccine agenda.3
Just last week, he forced out the newly confirmed head of the CDC after she refused to go along with his entirely baseless efforts to change the childhood vaccine schedule, leading to the mass resignation of many of the CDC’s other top vaccine scientists.4,5
We are in an incredibly dangerous moment for the public health of our country. Each and every one of us needs to stand up in support of science, push state health departments to ensure that vaccines are available to everyone who wants one, and demand that our elected officials take action to stop RFK Jr.’s efforts to strip away life-saving vaccines and treatments from us.
