John — I want to take a minute to explain:

September is an important month for campaigns like mine. You see, once the 30th rolls around, we’ll have to submit a report to the Federal Elections Commission with the names of all of our grassroots supporters and how much we’ve raised over the last fundraising quarter.

I have a lot of colleagues who are proud to boast big numbers and don’t really care how they raise them, but that’s not how we do things around here.

I’m proud of the type of coalition we’re building: nurses, teachers, small business owners, and everyday people who believe that we’re more powerful than the big corporations and the politicians they purchase.
