The Lincoln Project

Friend,

Well, it looks like firing the stats guy didn’t help the labor market.

What a f**king moron.

This was the equivalent of running a losing football team and firing the scoreboard operator.

It’s honestly fascinating to watch. In a matter of months, Donald Trump has managed to destroy a thriving job market. (Remember his first term saw the most job losses EVER.)

How did he do this? Simple. Bad ideas, bad hires, illiteracy about economic policy, and general stupidity.

Unemployment is the highest it’s been since 2021. This isn’t a coincidence; this is Trump’s administration functioning as designed.

The worst part is, he doesn’t really care. Trump could not care less if millions of Americans remain unemployed. He doesn’t care that Americans are still paying more for groceries and gas. He doesn’t care that his tariffs are bankrupting families. Trump will drive this country into the ground before he changes his mind on what’s good for the economy.

The quicker we get rid of this guy, the quicker we can get our economy back on track. That’s why we’re making it our goal to take down MAGA before things get worse. We’ve done this before. And with your help, we’ll do it again. Chip in to save our democracy >>
