This is important:

Last month, Donald Trump took control of the local police in D.C. and deployed the National Guard. Now, he’s escalating his plans to do the same in other major cities across our country.

We’re watching in real time the politicization of our military to consolidate power and intimidate political opponents. It’s dystopian and dangerous.

Trump’s plans will undermine public safety and erode trust. And as Delawareans know all too well from the year-long occupation of Wilmington in the late 1960s, the painful scars can last for generations.

I won’t sit back as Donald Trump abuses his power.
