I’m proud of the way we ran our campaign to unseat an entrenched Republican and give CA-27 real representation.

I decided early on that if I was going to run for Congress, I’d always keep our communities as the top priority – not bowing to political pressure from any side.

We connected with thousands of people at their doorsteps, on the phone, and at events – and our hard work won the day. We ended up being one of the only Democrats to flip a red seat in a tough election year.

I’m honored to be in Congress advocating for the Santa Clarita, San Fernando, and Antelope Valleys in the months since our historic win.

But this time around, our race will look a lot different. As a first-term member who flipped a difficult district blue, I’m a huge target – and the national GOP is already attacking me.

We need a strong showing today to stay on top of our quarterly goal. Come September 30th, we’re required by the FEC to make our fundraising public – and that will inform how hard the GOP will hit us.
