Out of the tragedy of September 11, 2001, came a new generation of service members prepared to serve and defend their country and our freedom — no matter the personal risk.

In fact, in the year following 9/11, more than 180,000 Americans enlisted in the Armed Forces, and more than 72,000 joined the reserves. These brave heroes believed that our country and freedom deserved all they had to give.

Today, and in honor of Patriot Day on September 11, we get the chance to say thank you to those heroes and all who serve.
