Here in Chicago, when faced with Trump’s hatred and attacks, we respond not with fear — but with unity and peaceful courage.

The Trump administration may send in federal agents, ICE, and armored vehicles to intimidate us. They might try to frighten immigrant families and communities that dare to stand up to them. But they don’t scare us — because we know the truth: This con is about power and control.

We know what’s coming. ICE agents snatching neighbors off sidewalks. Peaceful residents thrown into unmarked vans. All in the name of “safety.”

But that’s not safety. It’s abuse. And Trump is banking on manipulating our response — manufacturing chaos to justify sending actual soldiers into Chicago.

But he should know this: Chicago has a long history of peaceful protest. We are no strangers to calling out corruption and speaking up when our rights are on the line. We’ve shown that peace begets progress — and it’s time to do it again.

Governor Pritzker and I are doing everything in our power to fight back against this dangerous power grab. But we can’t do it alone. We need you with us, standing hand in hand, ready to stop Trump in his tracks.
