Folks, take it from someone who’s been there.

War isn’t cool, or fun. War takes the best of us and leaves everybody else dealing with it. You aren’t the same person after you come home. It isn’t anything to glorify.

Only somebody like Trump could think changing the Department of Defense to the Department of War was a good idea. A person who used his money and privilege to get a doctor's note to dodge the draft, while kids who didn’t have it went to Vietnam to fight.

This is the same guy who called fallen troops “suckers” and “losers.” It’s an insult.

If Trump wants to turn the military into his own personal force he isn’t getting any help from me. He’s got to come to Congress if he wants to turn the Department of Defense into the Department of War, and I’m not giving him my vote.

We need to convince my colleagues to do the same.

I need your help: Tell Congress the United States does not need a Department of War, and to vote against this ridiculous rebrand.
