Weekend Reading

Hi Friend,

Over the past 24 hours, hundreds of you have contacted your governors demanding protection for immigrant communities. Thank you for speaking out.

We know that immigrants make our communities and our country stronger. As the Trump administration continues to expand detention and deportation, our state leaders must step up. If you haven’t already, please join us in calling for communities where all residents can feel safe and thrive. Contact your governor today. [link removed]

FEDERAL POLICY

AFSC condemns U.S. sanctions on Palestinian human rights organizations [link removed]

AFSC strongly opposes the U.S. government's decision to sanction three Palestinian human rights organizations—Al-Haq, Al Mezan, and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights. It’s yet another attempt by the Trump administration to punish Palestinians for seeking accountability for violations of their rights, even as they face a genocide in Gaza. It also undermines all efforts to uphold international law. Read AFSC's statement. [link removed]

IN THE MEDIA

New book recounts stories from the Gaza genocide [link removed]

AFSC is proud to co-publish the book “Displaced in Gaza: Stories from the Gaza Genocide,” along with Haymarket and the Hashim Sani Center for Palestine Studies. The collection includes powerful first-person testimonies from 27 Palestinians living through Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza. In its book review, Middle East Eye writes, “This anthology celebrates the power of the human spirit in a way that few works can, precisely because it lets the people of Gaza speak in their own voices.” [link removed]

Special thanks to our monthly donors, our Partners for Peace, for their ongoing support to make all our work possible.
